I had a cheeky weekend away with my children. It was such fun and just so nice and important to have that quality time. Brodee went on the beach for the first time, he was totally fascinated. And Lola-Rose, well she is a travel snob and just loved a good hotel.

Anyhow, as someone who has worked hard to build a successful business, I wanted to reach out and offer some advice on a topic that is often overlooked but incredibly important: discounting your services.

Many beauty business owners feel pressure to offer discounts or lower their prices in order to attract more customers. But, discounting can do more harm than good. Here are a few reasons why:

  • You are undermining what you are worth! Your products and training have required a lot of investment, and the skills you bring to the table are valuable. By discounting your services, you are essentially telling potential clients that you don’t think your work is worth full price.
  • You will attract the wrong clientele. If you offer cheap services or discounts, you will likely attract clients who are bargain hunters and not your target audience. These clients may not be loyal and may only show up when there’s a deal.
  • Your regular clients will feel undervalued. If you’re constantly offering discounts, your regular clients may wonder why they’re paying full price all the time. You want to make sure your loyal customers feel special and valued.
  • You will make no money! When you’re discounting your services, you’re eating into your profit. You may not even be covering your overhead costs, which means you’re just busy to be busy without making any money.

I encourage you to know your worth and hold your head high. Don’t be afraid to charge what you’re worth and remember that there are other ways to attract customers besides offering discounts.

If you found this advice helpful, please let me know so I can share more content like this for you. And as always, if you have any questions or would like to chat further about your business, don’t hesitate to reach out.

Have a great day.
