It still feels surreal to even write these words, but… I’m moving to Dubai.
This has been a dream for years and now, it’s finally happening.
In July, me and my family are packing up our lives in the UK, boarding a one-way flight, and starting an exciting new chapter in the UAE.

But this post isn’t just about the move.
It’s about freedom, fear, and what it really takes to build a beauty business that works without you, one that gives you options, flexibility, and the power to design life your way.

Let me take you behind the scenes…

If you’ve followed me for a while, you’ll know I’ve been visiting Dubai for over 12 years.
It’s always felt like home, even when I was traveling as a single mum with my daughter, Lola. It was our safe place. Our reset. Our dream destination.

And the more we visited, the more that quiet voice inside me whispered,
“What if you actually lived here?”

That voice got louder every year. And now… we’re doing it.

I’m not going to lie, this decision wasn’t easy.
We’ve gone back and forth, lost sleep, and had moments where we nearly pulled out.
But in the end, we kept coming back to this:

You only live once.

This move isn’t just about sunshine and palm trees (although, hello).
It’s about growth. For me. For my partner, Luke (who’s bravely making a career change). For our kids. And for the businesses we’ve built.

We want to raise our children with adventure in their blood. We want to show them what’s possible when you take risks and trust yourself.

What About My Businesses?

Here’s the beautiful part…
Nothing is changing.

  • My salon, KG Salon, will continue to run without me. As it has done for the last 10+ years.
  • My product line, KG Professional, will keep serving lash and brow pros across the UK and is expanding into Dubai (yay!).
  • My coaching business will remain exactly the same, including in-person UK events, retreats, and our signature Mastermind program.

In fact, this move is proof of everything I teach:
That you can build a business that genuinely runs without you, giving you time, flexibility, and a consistent income.
It’s taken years to get here. But it’s possible. And if I can do it, so can you.

People often ask me what “freedom” really means.
Here’s my answer:

Freedom isn’t doing nothing.
Freedom is working on your terms.
It’s choosing when, where, and how you work.
It’s having income coming in, even when you’re not glued to the salon floor.

If I only had my salon, or my product line, or my online training courses, I could stop working entirely and still have money coming in.
But the truth is, I love working. I choose to work. And that’s the real freedom.

Of course, there are hard parts too.
Leaving my mum behind is going to be the toughest thing I’ve ever done.
She’s my best friend. My ride or die. She’s been with me at every retreat and every milestone.
But she’s given me her blessing and she’ll be visiting often (whether she likes it or not!).

We’ll miss our people. We’ll cry at the airport.
But we’ll also grow. Explore. Thrive. And create new memories together.

Let’s address the elephant in the room:
“Are you moving for tax reasons?”

Short answer: No.

Yes, Dubai has tax benefits but let me be clear…
Living there is significantly more expensive. Our healthcare alone is £700/month for a family of four.
I still run UK-based companies, which means my UK tax situation stays the same.

We’re moving for lifestyle, education, family, and freedom. Not for a quick tax win.

We’ve got a two-year visa. It might be forever. It might not. We’ll see how it unfolds.

But no matter what this move is proof that:

  • You can build a business that works without you.
  • You can create more freedom, money, and impact.
  • You don’t have to stay stuck in a life that doesn’t fulfill you.

This is your reminder that you get to choose your life.
Whether it’s moving abroad, scaling your salon, or launching something new, it all starts with a decision.

And I’m cheering you on the whole way.
